Chungwa ni tunda linalotokana na mti wa mchungwa jamii ya mlimau lina Vitamin C kwa wingi ambapo hupelekea kupendwa na  watu  wengi, Husaidia kuimarisha kinga ya mwili.

Hustawi maeneo mengi ya Pwani, Tanga, Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro pamoja na Dar es salaam, kutokana na hali ya hewa ya joto kiasi.

UANDAAJI WA MBEGU.

            Mbegu za chungwa hupatikana kutoka kwenye tunda lenyewe lilokwisha kukoma vizuri, na baadaye kuanikwa juani mpaka pale zitakapo kauka vizuri. huchukua siku 2 hadi 3 hadi kufikia kukauka na hapo zinakuwa tayari kupandwa shambani.

AINA YA MITI YA MICHUNGWA.

Kuna aina mbili za miti ya michungwa kulingana na muda kuanzia upandaji hadi pale zinapoanza kutoa matunda , nazo ni 

1. Muda mfupi (kisaasa)

2. Muda mrefuMuda mrefu, hii hupatikana moja kwa moja kutoka kwenye mbegu iliyokwisha kukauka vizuri na kupandwa moja kwa moja shambani, huchukua muda mrefu hadi kufikia kutoa matunda miaka 5 hadi 7, mti wake huwa mkubwa sana na hutoa matunda ya mbegu ile ile ulioipanda.
Muda mfupi (kisasa), hupandwa moja kwa moja kwenye viriba vilivyo kwisha kuandaliwa vizuri kwa kujazwa udongo, baada ya hapo mbegu nzuri huchaguliwa aidha kutoka kwenye tunda lenyewe au mbegu za limao.
miche ikiishapandwa na kufikia urefu wa sentimita 30 hadi 45 hufanyiwa kiunganishwi (budding) kutoka kwenye mti uliokwisha kukomaa vizuri na uliwahi kutoa matunda.

Faida za kuunganisha:

  • hufanya mche uweze kukua kwa haraka na kwa urahisi zaidi
  • hutoa nafasi ya kuchagua ni aina gani ya chungwa unahitaji kuzalisha kulingana na soko au upendeleo wako mwenyewe
  • huvumilia kushambuliwa na magonjwa na wadudu.

NAMNA YA UPANDAJI WA MICHE.


Uchimbaji wa mashimo

               Miche ya chungwa hupandwa kwa nafasi 
ya mita  4 kati ya mche na mche na mita  5m kati 
ya mstari na mstari (5 x 4)m shimo linatakiwa   
liwe na kina cha  60cm na upana wa  45cm  
kutegemea hali ya udongo. Wakati wa kuchimba 

shimo udongo wa juu (wenye rutuba) na ule wa 
shimo (usio na rutuba) lazima utenganishwe wa 
juu unaweza kuwekwa kulia na  wachini kushoto.

Kufukia mashimo.

Chukua samadi 10 kg hadi 15 kg changanya na udongo wa juu (ulioweka kulia) jaza mchanganyiko wa samadi na udongo ndani ya shimo hadi utengeneze mwinuko wa kitako cha 100 cm toka usawa wa ardhi,

Kupanda miche.Kata mizizi inayotokeza nje ya mfuko (nylon) iliyofungiwa mche wako, weka mche ndani ya shimo kisha chana nylon taratibu ili udongo usiachane na mizizi, ukishindilia kiasi, fukia shimo kwa udongo wa chini  hadi kufikia sehemu inayotenganisha shina na mizizi ya mche. 

UTUNZAJI WA MICHE IKIWA SHAMBANI 

     Magugu huzuia miche kukua vizuri wakati 

ikiwa midogo au michanga, wakati wa 

kupalilia hakikisha hauharibu mizizi kwa 

kuikata kwani mizizi ya mchungwa husambaa 

katika mdura wa upana wa 3m-6m kulingana 

na umri wa mti 

Njia ya umwagiliaji.

Chungwa huhitaji maji ya kutosha ili uweze kukua vizuri, kuna njia nyingi za umwagiliaji kwenye miche  ya chungwa.

unaweza kumwagilia kwa kutumia ndoo au kufunga mfumo wa umwagiliaji, mwagilia asubuhi na jioni ili mti upate maji ya kutosha kwa maendeleo mazuri. 

weka mbolea  pale unapoona dalili ya mmea wako kukosa virutubisho, mara nyingi mmea huanza kuonyesha rangi ya njano kwenye majani na kudhoofika unapokosa virutubisho vyake.
Upunguzaji wa matawi (Prunning).  Hakikisha mti unapata nafasi ya kutosha kati ya tawi na tawi kuondoa giza ndani ya mti ambalo  husababisha mti kukosa mwanga wa jua na kushindwa kujitengenezea chakula chake.ZINGATIA: Kwa mahitaji mbalimbali ya miche ya matunda kama vile parachichi, machungwa, chenza, ndimu, limau, passion, mapera,komamanga,papai fenes, stafeli, strawbery, migomba, cocoa, mizeituni pamoja na miti ya mbao na miti ya kivuli inapatikana, miche yote ni ya kisasa na ni ya muda mfupi.kwa huduma ya uzalishaji, utunzaji pamoja na ushauri wa miche mbalimbali ya matunda na upatikanaji wake tunapatikana Morogoro mjini, popote ulipo pia tunakutumia.
